interior light

the interior light is not coming on when doors are open.
1998 2 ltr d 5door.
dash light for doors open works ok
help

love freelander very good of road

Just an idea: take out the housing, you see see corrosion between the plug and where it attaches direct to the circuit board. A quick clean up was what mine required.

Corrected for you

Blown bulb... ?

Probably a bad connection at the light fitting.
It uses two different earth paths, one through the switch, which is ok, the other is switched by the CCU.

i tryed the green lane at kidstones above Buckden, got to the high point
& played ham radio, made a latae coffy,got afew contacts on 2mtrs & returned Skipton, well pleased with freelander.

I had this problem constantly - on my '02 TD4 the roof light has a PCB on the back of it and the wires plug on. The plug would corrode in no time so I soldered the wires to the PCB. No problems now....

Is the problem car a 5 door or 3 door? I think they have different lights.

Hi it is a 5 door, had a look at the board, cleaned conector on board, i think damp has come in though roof arial fiting, will seal with silican.
changed dif oil with sringe & tube, it was black. next frunt dif.

Freelanders do not have a front diff as such it is the ird and before you undo the plug to let the oil out make sure you can undo the refill plug ,use a flat sided socket to do it a multi sided can round the refill plug
