Morning Folks,

Baffled with my 2004 D2 , when I open the doors the interior roof light above the centre console will work, but when I try to switch it on with the doors shut no light ?

🤔 as hell as the 💡 is not blown.

Any ideas & TIA.

Funny, mine is exactly the same so I,ll check the switch on it tomorrow.

No not yet, been busy trying to finish my FL1 g/box install & today I've only just got back from the Newbury LR spares day, I'll try tomorrow now.

Hi Andy , any luck with the switch ? Anyone know the part number to the front interior roof light on a 2004 ?

Morning Folks ,

Quick update , removed the lamp from the boot and replaced it with the front to see if it’s a switch issue. Similar issue. Switched on the light with the doors closed , light stayed on for 15 seconds D’s then went off

Just looking at mine & the earth wire with spade connector is not connected  I've tested it with a separate earth lead & it now works manually with the switch so time to have a gynaecology type feel in the roof lining to find the loose earth lead.:)

Had a route around (without taking the whole roof centre consol out) & couldn't find any loose wires so I just made a fly lead & connected it to a handy post on that sensor bracket next to the sunroofs ecu, see pics, all working fine now.

So a home made lead rectified the issue. Will see what I can find to do the same
It did for mine & as you can see from the pics it's very straightforward. In fact you only need to take the lens cover off & hold a fly lead on the 8mm nut & then find a suitable earth with the other end to save you taking the whole lamp assy out initially.

Whilst we're here does anyone know which part/side of the loom the earth comes from ?
I took these pics when I replaced the roof lining but it doesn't show the earth wire.

The earth for the front courtesy lamp comes on a single black wire with female spade terminal from an earth header which is far from it
