Just had a look a the initial post in this thread, don't want to waste time reading the lot, but I would make these points:

Adrian flux are an insurance broker. They find the cheapest quote from the underwriters they use and take a commission. Like any broker, they are not the insurance underwriter.

Asking to use his own garage for repairs was a big mistake. Insurance companies use top end coach builders for their repair contracts in my experience. If you have any problem with the quality of any repair, you have legal redress. If your preferred repairer makes a mess of it, it is solely your problem.

All he has done is made a **** load of inconvenience for himself through naivety.

Whilst I am unbiased, I do prefer to use a broker. My preference is to use one with a local office so I can sort things out in person, and one that works for me filling in as much of the bumf as they have knowledge to do.

Definitely not my experience.
I insure my vehicle with one of the larger insurers, so I know that I am legal, but, in the event of an incident, I am prepared to sue the other driver in a private action to get full redress.

I've ended up with the AA. Think that happened because the meerkat beat the broker on an old car. Been very good tho. Changed vehicles twice foc. Dont like myself for not supporting a local business anymore

Flux cancelled my policy after 3 weeks cos I lived in a caravan.. Then told me I couldn't have a refund cos the policy had a clause that said no refunds. They soon changed their mind when I threatened an internet hate campaign..

Now that's the dark side of distance selling. Very off putting

Can I ask why please, I've been with them a couple of years and not had a problem, that said I've never had to make a claim!!!

Ill let you draw your own conclusion as to what sort of company Flux really are (several friends from school used to work there one still does, my mole :)) .... But if you want my advice and as youll find out with most things in life if you buy the cheapest nine times out of ten it'll fail on you and leave you stuck (flux sh*tting all over you when you need them) my advice would be buy something that you can trust be it in this case insurance or using genuine car parts when mending you landy.. ect even if it does cost a little more..
