Go Skippy are good, strongly suggest you actually speak with a person with regards to your premium, it is worth mentioning that your rangey does NOT have key less entry in any way shape or form! failing that rent a small holiday home for a weekend and insure from that address saying you are thinking of moving there permanently and then do the rest on line

At what age do the usual classic car insurance companies consider something like a P38 to be a classic. When I tried to get a quote for my MY2000 I just got a response saying they couldn't quote me. No reason why.

my p38 is insured as a classic through Lancaster on a limited mileage for £180 fully comp
 
Just renewed mine, used to be with Nfu then they wanted £1000 so went to LV, who said £780 on my td6. But then wanted £2000 on the 4.2s so used money supermarket and it came in at £860 with esure, nightmare to deal with as there one of a handful that require proof on Ncd but there site isn’t great and even though it says U.K. all centre it’s all Indian and can’t here a word they say. Anyway NFU refused to insure it and said “we’re no longer insuring any LR product unless it’s existing customer or one who wants to insure a lot with us like farm,couple of cars, tractor etc due to keyless thefts” I then explained no one nicks a 2006 l322 as there’s no market it’s all new stuff stolen to order and it’s old so needs the key not keyless but they just said it’s a blanket policy for all LR vehicles.

Interesting regards NFU as I insured with them on march first this year.

£157 fully comp. for my 3.5efi Classic, SD&P only with £20K agreed value with Lancaster, up from £134 for the past 2 years.
3000m PA, parked on drive out of town in Essex.

I shall be 79 next year, so I'm bracing myself for a premium hike any time now :rolleyes:
 
Strange that unless when I phoned it was a very recent thing they had brought in. Always liked Nfu as in when you phone it’s in Britain and no wait on phone but couldn’t justify there crazy prices.

+1 nfu, plus if the RR needs fixing nfu will actually repair it, not try and fob you off with cash

that's very encouraging as mines also due next month with Howdens AKA, { A Plan ) , will be an expensive month seeing the MOT plus fitment of the complete brake kit due😭

not forgetting an update of the ceramic brake pads on the drilled / grooved discs

Tesco Bank ins. was very competitive for our BMW daily driver this year, but then the theft risk of an old car from a semi-rural location is insignificant, compared to a modern RR in the suburbs/city.

People are not likely to move to a different post-code just to reduce their car insurance premiums, but they can choose to own a more insurable set of wheels ;)
