Ive tryed searching but not found exactly what im after

Basicly can I simply fit a 3way locker switch and just tap into the wires that are near the plug socket ? Think theres 3wires?

Do I have to fit a relay? Any sort off gauge wire? Think it needs to be water tight into the solenoid box ,
Isolator switch?

Ideally I would use a latched on-off switch for power to the winch and a two way momentary switch (mom-off-mom) to control winch movement in and out.

The isolator switch would definitely need to run via relay. Unsure about the control switch, depends what sort of voltage is used in the solenoid box.

Carling style switches are available in both styles and can be bought ready labled too

I got my switch from mudstuff and routed a spare wander lead to it. Only 3 wires as you say. No relays or other stuff needed.

So is it basicly just 3 wires for the switch think ill fit and isolator behind the grill
So I cant accidently push switch
And juat turn it on , on pay n plays ect

You should really have an isolator on the power cable for the winch as well, if you haven't got one. That way if your solenoid fails and somehow sticks open then you can still cut the winch out

I've got 2 mom on off mon on toggle switches on my dash, 1 front and 1 rear,

Got mine from farnell electronics in armley
