Hi all, I have a 97 110 300 tdi and i want to disconnect the immobiliser! It is a manual fob type (have to insert fob into dash before starting) the main connections for it are un the battery box under seat!
Please help!

You have a 'spider' thingy under the passengers seat. Count the wires going into the box. They are all black. If you have 4 thick wires and 2 thin ones, read on. If you have 5 thick wires, DONT follow these instructions.

1) cut wires and throw black box in bin.
2) ignore thin wires
3) Switch on 'ignition'. Muck about with the four wires until the ignition lights come on. Turn the key and nothing should happen.
4) Connect the other two thick wires and the engine should start on the key.

That fob you insert is not factory fit,I think you will find some cut/taped up wires under the dash and another little black box. That lot should be easy enough to sort out -just work out what wires were cut and spliced into then recut and join them back together as they were.If you have the smart spider under the LH seat aswell, take it out, grind out the rivets so you can open the box. Then unplug the smart spider and plug in a spider link,AMR4956,(same as Disco) and put it all together again.
You will have no immobilisation - other than the key,but at least the bloody thing will go !
