Hi all, I have a 2001 HSE 4.0, it had a flat battery, I have fitted a new battery and entered the key code( I have done this once before and it worked fine).
I seem to remember that last time I did it, that at the end of the sequence the alarm gave one "beep", to indicate the code had been accepted. This time there is no indication and when I put the key in the ignition the engine will turn over but not fire. I must add the car has stood for about 3 weeks, but has always fired first go in the past even when it has been left standing. Does anyone know if you should get an indication that the keycode has been accepted, and does anyone have any ideas how I can get my pride and joy running again. Thanks in advance.

sounds your becm sync code with the engine ecu are out of sync
you need someone with faultmate or a sync mate to sort it
look for the thread bcm-s last week for more info:) where are you someone near may be able to help??

Answer to the hooded claw, no all the windows are closed and reset according to the display.
Answer to KLF400 thanks for the tip, I will have a look. By the way I am in Telford in shropshire, if anyone knows anyone near who could help.

your about 100 mile from me maybe there is someone closer with the kit to sort you out
if your going to keep your rangie you will need to get a sync mate because it will happen when you least expect it:doh: i keep mine in the cubby box
£129 from tawpark 4x4 or from black box solutions[ not sure on bbs price]
i have no connection with tawpark 4x4 or b b solutions whatsoever:):)

irish is on every night, if you just pm him he will get back to you. i is 100 miles from you or i would come and do it for you. only takes 2 mins..

Hi klf400, do you think a auto electrician would be able to re-sync it on his lap-top?
rather unlikely, the range rover operating system is quite unique may be able to read engine fault codes but little more
some local garages will tell your all sorts of things like main ecu is fooked etc
your way foward is someone with the right kit faultmate, autologic, testbook or syncmate will sort in no time as j the range quotes:):)

cheers klf400,
hoping to find someone near who can help, dont mind buying one if that is definitely the answer, hope someone near can give me a shout, i have im irish rover but have had no response yet, maybe he has not come on tonight, if anyone knows anyone else who would like to help someone in telford shropshire, i would be most grateful.
