Why does it still say ignition key still in,when i have removed key

Because the little grey spring loaded cover inside the barrel has not dropped, try tapping the end of the barrel with the keys if it sticks up.

Because the wee switch inside the barrel is gummed up with all the assorted crap that's gone in there on your key over the years,.
Clean with alcohol spray, graphite dust, assorted commercially available lock cleaners or an airline, whichever you have to hand.

i just sprayed some wd 40 0n key, pushed it in and out a few times and it did the trick...

Best to clean that out as best as you can using an airline and replace with a fine dusting of Graphite Powder....WD40 is a Water Dispersant and not a lubricant, all it will do is attract further dust and fluff, leading to the lock gumming up again.

I fixed mine with graphite lock lube from Maplin Electronics....only a few pounds......easiest fix so far....!!

i have mine a week back ; and now it does not response to lock button it only work unlock , i have to lock it manually ,,,,,,,,,, have try spay it with Teflon cleaner , blow it with compress air:fighting: , tick the barrel with a spanner :ballchain:,, it still does not help ,, all suggestion are welcome to cure this

no, the key is not hack , i have 5 key and all the 5 is the same the main key no 1 , as i never use it ;;;; only in case,,,,, is also not working ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

hmmmm time to re-sync the keys...or check the lock Microswitch/mech

before this happen , mine is a (LEFT HAND DRIVE 1999 2.5 dse DIESEL ) when I lock it with remote my front right door lock with a longer hard sound derrrrrrrrr while the other is alredy in lock , and after 3 to 5 minuten it will locking again given another sound derrrrrrrrrr...... of it this a automatic super locking ...

i second that

today I dismantle the ignition barrel remove the switch ignition stc 2958 on the lock assembly.it have a little spring on the assembly popping up .Just only a blab spring and nothing else . ..... that only the spring with no small ball bearing of plastic pieces on top of under the spring ?
