The disco 3 has a TDV8. They shift quite nicely

I knew about a TDV6, and a diesel V8 in the RR. Dident know it was called a TDV8.

Not it don't Land Rover said they will never fit it in the Disco, Just Range Rover and Range Rover Sport

You saying V8's don't swim?? I might have something to say about that, coz mine does and it sounds great too!!

what have you done to it to make it swim??? I really want to stop mine chugging at the first sign of a puddle and idealy I wanna keep up with the oil burners on the plains (when they're open again)

O.K. First the proof, http://www.pebbletrack.co.uk/vids/swimmingv8.avi you can find more comments in the Hertfordshire Lanes thread in the green laning section round about page 440 - 445. (hope the link still works, it might take a minute or two to download coz its quite a big file)

How I did it is quite easy. I have a home made snorkle, the dizzy is sealed with RTV Silicon, viscous fan is replaced with electric (switched off for water) and my door seals are in reasonable shape. I have a plastic splash guard in front of the dizzy and the coil is wrapped in a plastic bag. All the leads are in good shape and sprayed with wd40.

The only things you need to watch are that after deep water you take the dizzy cap off and wipe away any condensation then give it a spray of WD ( or you can vent the dizzy cap), make sure you give your alternator a good spray with wd before and after swimming. Simple really.

No trouble with my V8 in water either , coil in lexan waterproof box , same with amplifier, and both , and dizzycap with breathers plumbed into snorkel , viscous fan still fitted . magnacor HT leads .
