I nearly lost the wife!!!

Hello all,

Can anyone offer advice please?

Wife went shopping this morning (bear with me,that is not the only problem!) she came out and started car, drove off and lost power. Pulled over and the HDC light came on and then car would not start at all. As far as I know we have had no recent issues and the only thing that I have noticed recently is the brakes have started squeaking, even though we had all pads replaced about 500 miles ago. Doubt this would be anything connected but thought I would include all info.

Car has been recovered to home, but so has the wife

Thanks, I have had the car dropped to the garage, hopefully get it plugged in first thing on Monday am and see whats what!

This Hill Descent Control works through the abs braking system, so it could be linked.

However, are you absolutely sure it's the HDC light that came on and not the SLS light, as the symbols are very similar?

SLS warning light sometimes comes on due to the ride height sensors being frozen solid.

DIs the car Auto G/box & also do you have the 3 Amigos on? e.g. HDC, TC. & ABS lights

If the battery has run low, it can cause the 3 amigo's, if its Auto g/box the 3 amigos can cause car to go into a sort of Limp mode e.g. no power

Sorry I have not replied, been away. I have now got it fixed, turned out to be a faulty fuel pump! So back on the road now but a few hundred quid lighter! Still, hopefully i will put the mrs off shoppin with a quick " you remember what happened last time you went love?"

ahaaaaa..... bloody hell, i might like those headlights but i am glad i got me a disco 1, nuts and bolts.
