i like to come on these forums to talk with other LR owners and find out new things about them. but dam me everytime i come in this range rover part of the forum i just get instantly depressed seeing topic after topic of problems :(

ive had mine 3 months now and am just waiting for something to go wrong with it. is it actually possible to have a range rover for 12 months without it having problems because judging by this forum its not lol.

how long has everyone had there RR for without it having any problems? i would love to know. :D

My wipers broke on the way home from buying it, and that was just the start!

I had my first P38 for 2 years and in that time appart from service items I changed a rear bulb, and one for the HEVAC. Present one has had airbags, exhaust, tyres, compressor seal, 3 months of diagnosing an anoying missfire and a blown up amplifier......

Wouldnt change it for the world:)

tbh mate whatever motor you get if its new or old things fook up
as the saying goes if its got tits or wheels you got problems :D

Its the snakes with tits that are the problem, the wheels never complain but require maintenance that can wait!!

Theres a modified version of that axiom that goes:

"If its got tits or tires and it's not a toyota then you've got trouble"

Had a Landcruiser for 3 and a half years/90,000 miles and I don't think I ever had to open the bonnet. Unbelievable reliability.

Boring as F**k though.Thats no way to live your life :D:D

2 RRC's later and I've found my soulmate with my beloved (but far from pampered! you should see the state of it today) P38. I've spent thousands on diagnostics, tires and tools, tested the wifes patience to the limit but its the car that fits my life perfectly. (well, at least a V8 one would be perfect, the DSE is just nearly perfect:p)

Hmmm...I've been looking at a few on ebay this week, just as a backup you understand. For the the rare occasion my Defender needs something done to it.

I do miss having a Hilux pickup around sometimes. Driving a Landrover every day for months can fray the nerves (& wallet) a bit, waiting for another clunk, rattle or vibration to develop...which it surely will sooner or later. :)

But Hey...who cares..it's only money..right...& we're worth it!

ive had 4 now

1, 4.0 auto apart from noisy cats never had a prob in the year i owned it,:)
2, 4.6 auto lpg kept dying eventually blew head gasket, never same again.

Dont get too deppressed. Ive had mine about 14 months, its got 192k on it of which ive done about 20k. The only mjor problem ive had is the MAF sensor has ****ed up after the car was left standing for about a month. Its had its few minor niggles, but it is an old high miler.

Personally it lifts my depression to know that others have got bigger problems than me:D:D, and I've never failed to find the answer here when I do have difficulties.

As with any car most problems can be avoided by paying attention to preventative maintenence and dealing with small things before they become big ones; as well as developing a good understanding of your car, which is where LZ comes in.

You have to remember that a LR isn't just a big car, it's a specialist piece of kit designed to take a lot of abuse, but in return for taking the punishment it must treated with care once you've finished the fun stuff.
