Dear All

I have just changed Daisy's crankcase sensor (which didn't fix the problem) and thought a 'how to' write up was in order: And if you follow these hints you do so at your own risk!

The good news:
Only one tool required
No need to jack up the car
I disconnected all the Fuel Pressure Regulator pipes in the hope that it would give me more access. It gave me more vision but all my access was from below. I would not disconnect hem again.

Tools required.
- 1 x 8mm ring spanner (a Halfords type ratchet ring is too long for the job)

Where is it?

Unfortunately it's impossible to photograph with an iphone. It is situated on the gearbox bellhousing just above and abaft the starter motor. You can see it below and to the left of the fuel pressure regulator from above.

How do I get to it?

By feel from below, lie under the car athwartships (with your head under the driver's side (RHD car) and your legs poking out the passenger side). Find the starter motor by feel then move up and left and you can find the sensor. You can get to it with your right hand from there but you cannot see it. Lying with your feet facing the back of the car lets you see more (but not the sensor) but my arm didn't have the joints to get in there.

Then what?

Reach up, squeeze the plug and disconnect it. I have read many forum posts saying this was difficult but I found it relatively easy.
Then reach up with the 8mm ring spanner and undo the bolt beneath the sensor holding it all in place.
Pull out the sensor
Reverse the sequence to fit the new one - getting the plug back on is emotional so take your time

Good luck!
