Still tempted........ BUT.........

Found out it has no MOT today and that has put me off quite a bit as it has gone from HGs to HGs + ?????

Could put it in to the garage for the HGs done but I already have enough of a project with my Disco, plan was to do/get done, the HGs and run it until the MOT runs out, but as it's currently not running I can't actually check it over properly to see what it would need for the MOT

I'm in no rush for another vehicle it was more that this came up at cheap money and now I can see exactly why

They're not worth a lot with a ticket. Without one it is scrap.

I thought the same but I don't see it as a viable project considering I already have one in bits and I'm not going to spend hand over fist using garages to do the work as I am sure there will be extra niggles along the way as it appears it has been stood a lot longer than I was told.

Guess I will have to go with the adult option and wait until the Disco is back on the road and then take on a new project.

Would it get through a test though? Has it lapsed or has it failed a test?

Went to see it today out of curiosity.

It's in a right state, MOT ran out in August, HG failed in June and the top end is partially dismantled, the pictures didn't show the loose bolts all over the engine and where it's been stood a while it's got damp an the carpets are mouldy, FFS the leather steering wheel had it's own fur coat

As a minimum it would need 3 new tyres as the front's were bald and one rear was not far behind, EAS needs full overhaul too as it has dropped on the bump stops

No battery on it so I couldn't even see if there were any dash lights that would present problems.

It could be saved but it's a long term project motor.

Still fancy one but this particular one can go to the scrap yard in the sky as it's too far gone for me.

Sounds like they should pay you to take it off there hands:D
keep looking they are out there:)

It was only really of interest as it had 3 things going for it, it's a familiar engine being a Rover V8, it's very local to me and very cheap.

Think I'll hold off until I've finished the Disco and have space on the drive for a proper project, might even come back for this if they haven't scrapped it already.

My 4.0hse may well be for sale soon. Not local to you but she's a good bus that just needs a bit of tlc that I simply don't have the time for.
If you're interested, drop me a message and I'll tell you more about it.
