How noisy should my new clutch be?

Had the lot changed as the release bearing was waking up the street every morning.

Now the kit seems very noisy, had everything done including the flywheel.

Going to get it back to them end of the week, but was wondering how it should sound, maybe its a vibration as well.

Nothing on tick over, then a roar as the revs head up, then cant feel it in top gear.

I cant say that i've ever had a noisy clutch apart from a slight grumble. I would have thought that the release bearing is the only moving part that can squeal when dry or seizing up.

Did they fit a new dual mass flywheel, or a solid one?

Hope it wasn't a 'transmech' clutch kit you fitted. If it was, there's your problem.

The garage said it is a Valeo kit including the dual mass flywheel.

Checked under, prop shafts, exhaust all seem good.

Ive fitted loads of clutches mainly in truck and cant say I have ever had a noisy one, slap in it in quick test drive and bye bye driver.
Same approach to all the ones Ive fitted in my own cars over the years.
Have you googled valeo noisy clutch to see what others have posted?

As said, can’t see why any new properly fitted clutch would ever be ‘noisy’ - def ask them to check it over, and not take any nonsense...? Good luck, A

Never had a noisy clutch, only noises I've ever suffered are from the release bearing and this usually only makes a noise on tick over with foot off the clutch pedal.

Bear in mind that I know nothing about these things BUT I did have experience of a dreadful screeching noise when I had my clutch replaced. It turned out to be an incorrect 'washer' being fitted. It should have been a phosphus (?) bronze one and wasn't. The garage had to redo the clutch completely to put the correct washer ( a very cheap bit) on - at their expense, I hasten to say.
This might be relevant to your noise or not, but I did tell you I know nothing, except what I have experienced.

that could only be the spigot bush ,it would only screech when clutch was slipping ie when pedals pressed

What else can you get spigot bushes made from if they're not phosphor bronze? Sounds strange.

Good question. I thought they were phosphor bronze. I'm 99% confident that @neilly will be googling this as we speak.

sintering is the method of manufacture.

Yes, that was what was happening. The noise was deafening ... and embarrassing! I only know what I was told and as they redid the work to make all back to normal, I didn't question it. Even if I had, I wouldn't have been any wiser!!

td5 has a big issue with that its the only engine i need to check spigot size once fitted most need reaming out as they are too tight hence noise

Ok, @neilly mustn't be online, so I've had to google this myself.

The sintering process creates a porous metal. Sintered bronze in particular is frequently used as a material for bearings, since its porosity allows lubricants to flow through it or remain captured within it. (wikipedia)
I soaked mine in oil for a few days, but didn't boil it in oil.
