How noisy should my new clutch be?

It is an old trick.
If you think of the sintering process as lots of little phosphor bronze balls stuck together into a shape. Between each ball is a small air gap.
By boiling it, in oil, the air that is trapped within the material expands and comes out of the bush. As the bush and oil cools down, oil replaces the air.

Plus hot oil will be a bit thinner and can get into the interstices better.
I'm still struggling to imagine what they could have put in instead of the bronze bush. Banged a spare piece of tube in that was approximately the right size? But why? The bronze bush is the cheapest item, after all.
We had one with the old Series that fitted on the gearbox shaft when it was fresh out of the box, but once in the back of the crankshaft it shrunk and the gearbox wouldn't go back on.

so the 110 has been back in the garage today for a look, nothing loose underneath so is probably the dualmass flywheel playing up..

Getting it booked in next week for a proper look. Mechanic had a 'look' with a pry bar and then adjusted the thing that sets pressure. going to drive a bit see if anything settles down. Cant see it happening myself.
