How long to change EGR Valve on 2.2 Defender?

Morning guys
my dad's 2.2 defender keeps going into limp mode on a long drive to cornwall......so I may have to jump in my defender and meet him somewhere with tools to change it over (i've got a new one).

Is this possible/mad? I do work on my Land Rovers just have never had to remove/replace the egr on one of these tdci models.

How long do we think it'll take?

Have the fault codes confirmed it is a faulty EGR valve? There could be other causes ----
Some workshop manual pages attached for the EGR in case you need them.

hey Wimblow, yeah codes have confirmed. We are going to have a crack at it later today.

I've had the manual a long time and can't remember where I found it. Just that I found it on line on one of the landy forums and downloaded it - free. So a bit go googling for you.

unplug it light will come on but if its shut your landy will run better than ever
