Hi all,

Just signed up, I've been reading other users posts for a week or so whilst discovering the common pitfalls of freelander 1's. Just purchased my freelander last night after giving it a thorough going over. I didn't do the one wheel up test on the VCU but I did some reversing in full lock and felt the unit after the drive (didn't feel hot) so purchased it! It's the 1.8 which I know a lot of you don't recommend! It's had a replacement head gasket and timing belt done on it already.

Haha I won't, I nearly purchased an older discovery but preferred the freelander!

I've not got much plans for it, I'm going to sort out a breakdown policy just encase. I think the first job I need to do is to get the second fob working. Seller said he thought the battery was just flat however changing it and trying to resync it with the car hasn't resolved it so I'm going to post a question in the freelander section at some point.
