Hi,

What a cool forum this is! I stumbled upon it searching for used L322 buying guide info. I'm from the UK originally but have lived and worked in Germany for the last 12 years or so. I've loved Range Rovers since I was young but was never able to afford one. Now I'm in my mid-thirties I can finally afford a decent used L322. I'm looking to buy 2008 model year Vogue 3.6 diesel in the next weeks so I can stick my bike in the back and cruise to the Alps this summer. Hopefully it will work out...

Hello and welcome.

Quick question, is it actually legal to drive of road in Germany? I've heard it's not, so I'm curious to find out if what I heard is true :)

Erm, I'm not sure. There are certainly privately owned off road areas but I'm not sure if they have the equivalent of byways etc. I must ask around. There's a German LR owner's club that organises off road events. Here's an example.

(someone's even braved the muck in their L322)

FYI: From my brief research it seems green laning is not allowed in Germany. There does not seem to be the concept of byways or similar over here. It's forbidden unless otherwise stated and is basically never otherwise stated :(
