So a 110 Defender im looking for..... what years should i look for? any to avoid?

are the engines interchangable?

almost anything on a Defender is interchangeable - 200 or 300TDi are simple, reliable and strong injuns. The TD5 has a lot more electronics and therefore has to go to a stealer more often to diagnose problems. Other than that condition is more important than age - as OD says - chassis condition.
