Here is some info and stuff on my Hevac panel project.
Since a lot of Hevac displays and fan buttons don't work very well after over 10 years in service I decided to make a new one.
I traced all signals on the main board and scrapped the front panel and mainbaord cpu.
It is now replaced with an Arduino with a color touch lcd.
The front plastic part is printed out on a Replicator2 FDM printer in black pla.
The buttons have also been re arranged a bit and they all have a RGB LED beind them.
The AUTO function has been removed. The PROG function has been changed so it depends on outdoor climate so it really has a chance to defrost the window in cold climate. It also has wider tolerance for distrubion motors so they still would work even after they are old.
The diagnosis is built in and can be accesed via the touch lcd or bluetooth via Android.
The display is also use for displaying engine data and EAS controls.
The software and hardware is of course open source so anyone can adapt it to their own needs and add or change functions as needed.

Got a spare one? Could do with this function: It also has wider tolerance for distrubion motors so they still would work even after they are old

I am in the middle of programming. I will start selling upgrade kits some time during summer.
I just have to do the button/led pcb's and not just veroboards as in the test version.

just so annoyed with mine that works but come up book as it draw a micro-amp too much moving dist. motor.
Any price idea?

The whole kit would end up at around 100£.
That is for front plastics, pcb's with new buttons, arduino and display.
Fully mounted I would charge 150£.
The assembly requires some smd soldering/desoldering.

Even I find that interesting. Need to be able to dim the display though, I dislike all these bright displays for night driving, one of my complaints on the L322.

I think that you should aim for a plug & play final unit. Soldering/desoldering smd is not for the faint hearted, or shaky hands! If it makes life any easier how about a 'send me your HEVAC and I'll upgrade it' service?
I'm with Data on the need for a dimmable display.

Could do it on an exchange basis. We send u our hevac and u send back one of your shiny modded ones

Yes, I was planning to to a refurbish model. I have 12 old Hevacs in stock.
The EAS diagnostic part will only work against my EAS module.

The display is to slow to support live camera feed :-( And it would be to low in the dash anyways.
