We had a natter at the pub last night and a few of us decided to head up to the peak district the last weekend in June.

Since our little crew is getting bigger by the day we thought that it would be better if each small group of drivers that wants to come along (max 6 vehicles per group) organise their own routes and travel the byways in their own little convoys, with us all meeting up in t'evening for a right royal **** up.

Remember this is not a centrally organised event... just us lot out for a decent weekend... but will be trying to follow the green lane code of conduct... hence the small groups.

Who's up, who's in

It turns out I have something on, on the friday, and don't know if i can make it up there by saturday morning, so will have to back out i'm afraid. If it were the weekend before I can do it.

If I'd have known where the pub was I'd have been there! Anyway all being well I'm up for it for sure. Could do with a long trip in the summer to prep for a longer one in winter.

No!

Only joking,

You are most welcome all we are saying is that we are doing groups of 5 vehicles Max to a group no exceptions as many groups as you want but we will go to different parts of the peaks and keep in comunications by phone/CB so we do not meet up forming a large group. Should be fun camping with loads of us bbq and some beer sounds like the order of the weekend. Jai

Keeping groups small makes for much more time to cover more terrain. Large groups are a no no anyway with greenlaning and does us no favours. Beer/BBq etc we can discuss what lanes we did that day and swap routes whats good and whats not etc.

what dates?

and jai. im looking at buying me a series III at the moment, 1972 so tax exempt, and 500 quid. its in blackpool though so a bit of a treck. i have some photo's etc including the chassis, bulkhead etc, and im trying to make sense of it. any chance of some pointers?

im thinking its more than worth it for 500 at the moment but i may be skirting over something major - its rusty but doesnt look all that horrific

If the chassis is solid all over, the bulkhead is solid all over, its all legal and runs its worth £500 if its got any kind of rust problem then it needs serious consideration although alot of people would buy it for its ID and transfer their Series III to get tax exempt status which is pretty much illegal Jai

well i guess it all depends on what you consider a rust problem!

tell you what mate - i will send you some photo's via email

the bulkhead looks like it will need work

Spyderman think you were counted in the first group in the group anyhows. It was Derbyshire/Peaks No ideas exactly where abouts we need to get hold of some memory maps that have some legal lanes on so we can plan exactly where to stay etc Jai
