Help with a welder....

I need to do some welding on my series 3 (MOT next month) and I have had a real time of it with an Oxford Welder which only provides current on certain settings and now not at all. I have also fried my multi-tester on the damn thing trying to measure resitance.

Ideally, I'd like to try and find a manual for it. its quite old. Any ideas?

If it's on old Oxford Welder it will be oil cooled and probably the "Bantam" model. I honestly haven't a clue as to where to send you for a manual either chap.

old oxford welders come up on ebay now and again. fairly cheap now.
or hire a mig welder for the weekend, thatll do it ok.

Hire or buy a Mig is your best bet.
You can get a 150 Amp unit for around £130 and up.
Check out Machine mart , Screwfix etc

cheapo arc welders at aldi this week. think they were 39 quid or summat?

Undo the nuts round the top and check the oil it may be full of water causing shorts.

About to take lid off box today.
