I'm not sure how to use these forums but I need help with information or simply spreading the word. We've had this car in the family for well over a decade and it's my parents dream car, they are devastated we would just like the car back if possible.

GJ56 WVD Black Defender 90 Land Rover stolen from Thamesmead/Abbey Wood Yarton Way (South East London) between 5pm-8pm 08/11/2020 likely towed for order. Stickers on windows. No roof rack when stolen. Please share and contact if you have any information. Report to the Police.

Glad you got it back. And thanks for updating, many people don't bother and we never hear from them again. But don't waste money on a crook lock they are useless and can be removed in seconds. Take time to look through the security devices thread in this forum, much useful info on various items. Personally I recommend a pedal lock which completely hides the pedals as lesser items can be removed quite easily. And add several layers of security, the more the better.

As above, l recommend these products plus a tracking device.
You were very lucky to get the Land Rover back, most disappear without trace or are found in a field upside down as a stripped/burnt out hulk

One thing not mentioned is the alarm mate - that's first thing I'd do and did! Get a good alarm with anti tilt sensors so it can't be dragged or moved without it going nuts. I'm amazed you got it back without the tracker but happy for you that you did! Even cats are being nicked off ordinary cars again now. I thought that was a 90s thing!

Glad you got it back, sounds lucky.

I would vouch for proper security, I had a car nicked once which had a crooklock on it, never bothered buying one since. It wasn't a Landy and wasn't worth much but was a complete pain. Turned up in a canal in Manchester.

When the time comes I will be getting the works as far as possible and I would say the advice to get an alarm with tilt sensors etc is very sound, the number of times you hear of them being towed, or fake recovery etc. Public never take any notice but they might do if there was an alarm going berserk.
