Help remote problem

Hi people,

I have a problem with my 1999 disco 2 only got the car yesterday everything seem to be working fine.

the rear door behind the drivers door has the locking pin missing (the thing that pops up when its open)

The door would not open from the outside untill today then it seem to just open.

but now the fob locking wont work so when its opened and locked with the key from the drivers door it sets the alarms off and the engine wont start.

replaced the battery in the fob so i know its not that.

we thought it may have been the back door so we removed the back panel on the rear door behind the drivers and locked the back door then but we still have the same problem.

we dont have the eka code for the disco

any help would be ideal or information.

the fuse is ok also.

Sounds as it's either a broken fob or the receiver that's above the rear head lining..
