The time has come to reluctantly part company with my rather special Discovery....please feel free to give me an idea of what it should be advertised for.
First the standard stuff.
1996 Discovery V8i ES.
Met. Green. Auto.
Full electric heated perforated leather, heated screen, Aircon, Multi CD, Camera Detector, Motorola Bluetooth integrated system with voice prompts, 7 seats, towbar and electrics, roof bars, side steps, PAS, EW, EM, Twin ESR,

Approximately 100,000 miles ago she had a very special new custom engine built and installed at V8 Developments in Spalding Lincolnshire.
This is a 4.6, lightened and dynamically balanced (compression 9.35:1) with twin Gas-Flowed Stage 3 heads, Kent 218 Cams with hydraulic tappets, Aluminium alloy trumpets, ported inlet manifold and a high flow air filter.
The Fuel system consists of the Lucas 14 CUX closed-loop with the OMEX 150 Ignition Management system.

Full Janspeed System so it sounds as well as it goes, and it goes - trust me.

An AG SGi Multipoint Injection LPG system with twin torpedoes and a donut tank (120 litre) was fitted at a cost of £3500 and was serviced recently.

Steering rack is an overfinch high rate item and all bushes are Scorpion Urethane Polybushes, KONI Shocks and Britpart Springs, Goodridge Braided hoses, Large wheel spaces for improved track, Alloy wheels and Pirelli Scorpion ST tyres.

Paint very good with usual minimal bubbling on tailgate. Interior excellent.

Extensive history file with many bill and all MOT's.

Opinions (apart from 'keep it') - I've thought of every way possible and sadly I can't do it.

I love this Vehicle and it shows.

All the best, Mark.
:)

Cant help you with your valuation I'm afriad, but what did you think of V8D?
Did you feel that you got value for money for the engine from them?
How come you kept the Lucas set-up as opposed to a fully mappable system?
Did you look into any other firms building the engine for you, and if so, why did you choose V8D over them?

The reason I am asking is because I have a 4.0 with a slipped liner, and fancy a special 4.6 in its place.

In advance, thanks.

2000 to 3200 if your lucky, i'd be lookin more bottom end so don't get exited
less if you part chop
there fetchin fook all now:mad:

too expensive to run for most folk,

if i were you i'd keep it an run it in to the ground coz its now worth FOOK ALL:eek:

sorry you did ask for an opinion.

Yes I did did'nt I.......

Too expensive to run ? Its LPG, parts are hanging from the trees, and they don't break down. What are you talking about ?
Worth Fook All ? What am I ? 17 ? Just dropped out of a UFO ?
Have some respect. Its a near mint example of a top of the range vehicle thats had 14 grand (with documents to prove) spent on it.
When I've sold it I'll use this quote and let you know how much.....

it may well be near mint but until you post some piccies how can we tell ... the fact its had 14 grand spent on it makes no difference really does it ?? its got 100,000 miles on it and its v8 .... thats never going to help .

just a quick point , theirs little point coming onto a forum asking for help and , well having an attitude , i dont mean to be rude but you have , do yourself a favour and show the pictures and take the advise your asking for or go , it makes no difference to anybody on here , your ****ing up the wrong tree .

sorry and i do wish you luck with your sale but i dont think its worth what you seem to think it is ..... go on tell me what you think its worth...

RICK...

What the guys are tellin you is that things have changed and its a buyers market with rock bottom prices.
Youve got too much cash in yours - so if you dont want to give em away take some of the accessories off n'all as this probably ur only chance youve got to recover some of your £14k as no one is going to give you north of £3k for anything V8 on a >10 year old disco and .......If the engines really that special why dont you

1. keep it and put it in another truck?
2. Sell it seperately

I'm sorry to tell you that I think the other posters are right.

Discos have fallen out of fashion so badly now that they just don't sell, almost at any price. And any non-std Disco has a tiny market.

You know you have lost all the money you've spent on her, right?

If you can find a buyer at £2000, you'll be doing well, sadly.

Cheers & good luck

Dave

They do, if you read the posts on here - seems to cause loadsa probs.

I think yu autta speak to this guy - he is wanting £5K - and no takers! Mind yu - he wont sell it at all if he doesnt put up any pics. Peeps like to see what they are buying.

Will you ? Should we discuss a price first ? Go on.....you start....
You never know your luck....

Before we disscus such vulgaritys as price, would you be kind enough to either send me an email, or tell me on here a little more info on the motor please?

Is it crossbolted?
Is it serp?
Is it a "CosCast" block?
What crank?
What rods / pistons?
Tophatted?
Whats the oil pressure?
Any overheating issues?
What temp thermostat is in it?
What water temp does it run at?
How old is this motor? How many miles has it done since it was built to this spec?
When it was built up, was it on a brand new block, or on a new one?

Sorry for all the questions, but I already have one block with a slipped liner, and dont want to have to go through all that again.

Many thanks.
