Disco 2 Help me identify this stainless catback exhaust on my V8 D2 please.

Well its just a tail pipe, the main pipe over the axel and its muffler will still be required, so at the moment it’s a long way from be called “cat-back” system.
My disco has stainless cat back system which was manufactured by Janspeed and fitted in 2007 after the original tail pipe fell apart.

No its a full catback. I just had the backbox off so took some pictures of it. It's all fitted now. I'll search for a janspeed one to compare pics, unless you have any?

Unfortunately Janspeed have now stopped manufacturing systems for early RR and discos, maybe also the modern vehicles as well.

Janspeed units usually have "Janspeed" etched into either the tailpipe or muffler.
That one on yours just looks like a generic "stainless" unit you get off ebay, it isn't 304 grade stainless, which is the reason it is corroding around the tailpipe..

Hmm looks like 410 to me, could be wrong though
Looks to have a light layer of corrosion on it...

True however the chassis of the LR would turn to dust in the conditions required to corrode 304.
But as said 410 rust more easily..

Not really an opinion 'tis fact how rust resistant 304 is..
That is unless your ST exhaust was mis advertised I see no reason for it to rust.
