I have a Discovery 4 2012 with a fault on the Infotainment system.
None of the features are enabled (DAB, phone, radio, satnav), they are all grayed out on the display.
I got a MOST fibre optic jumper and fitted it to bypass the amplifier, fitted next to the DAB module above the drivers side rear wheel arch (RHD), this then proved that the amp was not working because I could see the fibre light shine at the next module (DAB module situated adjacent).
There was no power to the Amp (LR093599).
I found it had blown the 40A fuse in the engine bay, we fitted another but it blew that as well. There was a short across the amplifier power terminals.
I replaced the amp from ebay, it now does not blow the fuse and has power but won't enable and the fibre optic light won't shine past it.
I suspect that the enable is the problem but can't find any wiring info about how this works. I think it is the green plug with just 1 pair of wires going to it)
Can anyone help with this please to say how it works, or maybe which fuse or relay may control it.
Thanks.

Generally replacement components on the MOST need to be configured to the system, or they are ignored.

Sounds like it needs proper installation and programming.

Hi Nodge, thanks for the reply, I hadn't anticipated that being the case, I'll ask around. Is that likely to be only a main dealer privilege?

Not all modules need configuration, a like for like replacement of the BT or DAB module doesn’t, but from memory an amplifier does.
You need something like an IID BT or JLR SDD to diagnose and configure new modules.

We did a test today on the new Amplifier by putting a direct signal from the battery onto the Enable pin on the green plug and hey presto, it all sprung into life.
Now we just need to work out why the enable (wake up) signal isn't coming on. I have looked on the internet and found other circuit diagrams for the alternative Karman amp on what looks like older models, but not for ours.
Can anyone help with a diagram or knowledge of how it works? It's a Disco 4 2012 with one of these amplifiers.
