Disco 4 (LR4) Help! Engine gone bang

Hi All,
got a 62 plate Discovery 4 commercial 3.0sdv6 engine starts but knocks loudly, i suspect piston as when i take the oil filler cap off it puffs quite a bit (pressure build up).
I don't trust the recon engine adverts online as read some bad reviews unless anyone can recommend a good one.
Question is apart from the Discovery what other vehicles were these engines fitted to? I was told Jaguar XF but would need to change oil sump pan to fit.
Any advice appreciated.

Jag S Type has a 2.7L version of it.
The XF has the 3.0L
The D5 also has the 3.0L engine fitted.

Crankshaft main bearing problem thay say leads to crankshaft failure.
As above and a few more vehicles.
