help diagnosing rear wiper not working

Ok read as many threads as i can on this including the one where the becm is on the way out
The rear wiper doesnt work no noise no movement but washer is fine the arm has stopped at about the 4 oclock position.
can someone go through how to pinpoint the fault ( moter , wires , switchs etc) ???
I've got an electrical tester please dont just say "see if there's voltage at the plug" tell me how i'd do that aswell tar:doh:

lastly if it is the becm can this part of it be fixed??

Sorry its a p38 dse year 2000 .

does the boot lid work as it should?

the reason i ask is to change the wiper blade you have to set the wiper going then open the boot when its at the bottom, this will stop the wiper took me a while to figure this out.

i think the wiper motor is behind the plastic on the inside of the lid! the washer motor is on the bottle at the front of the car so its prolly not connected on the fuses. the fuse is under drivers seat

According to my book you are supposed to remove the wiper arm to change the blade, so thanks Gav, I will try your method with the tailgate open.

The motor is behind the plastic interior panel, I had to remove mine to fix the washer. Very easy to remove.

how do you get to the wiper arm bolt??? its concealed behind the strip at the top of the door!!!

trust me my method is more convenient!

I trust you mister Briggs, I need a new rear wiper but have been putting it off because the book method is not easy I will try your method at the weekend
