hi all.....i've finally found you and a new passion in my life....my new freelander TD4 S ...well i say new but its a 2000 (X) but i've always wanted one and finally found one that was in my price range.....
i have been really impressed with the threads on this forum as i've already experienced my first problem but thanks to you all i think i've found the solution. 5 miles from stanstead airport i found i was losing speed and bellows of black smoke making the road behind me disapear. i pulled over after the vehicle was really struggling and popped the hood to see that the rubber pipe which i think goes into the turbo had a large split in it. RAC came to recover the vehicle but then i had problems stating it and it was running really rough.
does anyone know if i've cause any serious damage to the turbo as i cant really afford a big repair or is this a commonn problem that a new pipe will resolve. it's the weekend so i will have to wait eagerly until monday to see the damage assessment. cheers for any info!!!!!!! dan
