Hello all, I've lurked for ages but thought it time to join properly. I have two 88" Series IIas, one nearly complete, the other an endless headache. I've found tons of help on your pages so far and long may that continue. The big job I'm most dreading is flatting and sanding my recently sprayed 1968 truck. It looks great from a distance at least. Isn't bodywork fun...

Welcome to the destination flight from Leamington spa to Bognor Regis. Landyzone favourite coffee cup cleaning company.

Nice, Once you've finished sanding back one you can start the other one lol.
MY dad has a series 2a and a series 2 with a 2.0 diesel (currently in bits, 1/4 of the way getting rebuilt).

You're a land rover enthusiast, you don't think .
Get a high powered pressure washer, take the paint straight off
So true. The pressure jet washer was how the 64 ended up looking like it does - previous owner hadn't primed the panels before painting. All good fun. The bodywork can wait - got some engine and underbody stuff to address first...

Welcome
So which of the motors has the correct set up for the indicator/side lights on the front ?
(Only asking for fun… nice motors though)
Thanks - and thanks all for the kind welcoming comments.

Re the indicators/side lights, looking through old books, it seems that indicators belong on the outside. But they were an optional extra up to 1969 I think, so maybe they were added later on my 1964, with the side lights kept in the position originally supplied. All that being said, now I've researched it, I'm tempted to move them to the 'right' position!

I know what you mean about option extras…
The mrs S1 80” only has 1 wiper as that was optional ;)

Almost all Series Ones will now have a passenger seat fitted.
And as far as I know, your vehicle would have always had a passenger seat. I don't know when passenger seats began to be fitted as standard, but I think it was before 1964.
The elephant grey set all matched when I bought it and is correct for '64 (eg full vinyl covering the back of the seat backs), not the later ones which didn't bother covering the backs).
