Hi, I guess its about time I join a forum, I've had my 88" S3 for 14 years now. Over this time it's been V8 converted with LPG, overdrive and Rangerover diffs, Mondeo radiator and fan, plus so much more. To fit the radiator I've added a Stage 1 V8 looking fiber glass front panel and bonnet but looking for a Landrover front panel badge if anyone has one available?

Currently it's undergoing a big overhall as after 14 years of me using it as a heavy haulage machine and general abuse. So I've put a half chassis on it, all new rear suspension and brakes. Fully reconditioned the seat box including making a stainless steel tool box / battery box under the passenger seat. I've also fitted a pair of Rangerover P38 tubular exhaust manifolds, only I've put them on back to front so they exit forwards for the tight space needed on a series V8 conversion. I've made a complete custom stainless steel exhaust including a pair of lambda sensors for the Air/Fuel ration gauge that's now fitted.

Here is a photo of it a few years ago it's now fitted with Toyo Open Country tires and I cant recommend them enough.

I guess I should start a thread with the repairs and upgrades I've done over the last 14 years or so.

One question though, my insurance is due for renewal and I have the option for an agreed valuation, but where do I get a valuation from, how on earth do I find the value of this old truck?

Cheers

Welcome to the landyzone, nice looking S3. Look forward to hearing about her upgrades etc. I would suggest you have a look on EBay to see what prices similar S3s are going for and then add a bit on.

Great looking Series!

With regard to the agreed valuation I did this with my old Mercedes 450SLC I just submitted 6 current photo's and a spreadsheet on what I'd spent getting her up to condition and what I thought she was worth. The insurance company then submits the file to their underwriters who then say yes or no to the figure. Mine said yes to £10,500 even though they sell for £3,500 on ebay.

I'm with Adrian Flux.

Seriously why make it flat fronted! loses all character then! and don't say its to make it fit because thats bull**** same with looking better! A chevy 350 fits in the engine bay with no issues!

I've got a V8 in the series one and it still keeps the front end stock!

Apart from that the ideas sound, I've got P38 headers going on mine but the right way round for true dual

Haha, looks like it's a bit controversial having that front. In my defense, when I bought the Landy it came with a complete /defender front end headlight surrounds the lot. I've stripped it back to Stage 1 sort of look, but also made full use of the front by fitting the biggest radiator I could find. The Mondeo radiator completely fills the space between the wings and from the chassis up to the bonnet, it couldn't be a better fit.

I'll be interested to see how you get on fitting the P38 manifold the correct way round Dr_Evil, the only way I could get mine in was back to front sort of TVR style.

Oh and it's MOT time tomorrow morning so I have everything crossed after a 2 month intensive strip and rebuild
