i wonder if someone could tell me if there is a fuse or relay for the heated wing mirrors as mine have stopped working,i can,t find anything on the rave cd,or in the user handbook, other than they are supposed to be on when the engine is running:confused:
many thanks andy

The heated mirrors are powered all the time, if they aren't working then you'll most likely need new ones (some on eBay for £18 and you might need the plastic clip if that breaks when removing), just like with the heated seats, its never the fuse...

There must be a fuse somewhere surely ?
Incase of a fault
I seem to remember they are fed from the BECM, I'd have to check to be sure.
Just checked, driven from the BECM via the outstation, if the movements work then then it's either the outstation or the mirror.

If there is no fuse then I would assume the element burns through untill a break occurs stopping it from working?

No idea, let us know if you find out. As mine are the photochromic auto dipping mirrors, they are expensive to replace so I will live without the heating.

Just fit standard replacements

I'd rather have heated mirrors than driving with iced up mirrors lol

I'd rather have auto dipping mirrors than heated mirrors, I've more often had to tweak rear view mirrors to avoid dazzle than I've had a problem with iced up mirrors, a quick squirt of deicer fluid soon clears them:)
It's another piece of daft design. They should come on with the heated rear screen, then they would have lasted longer. Still they managed LR's design life of 7 years:rolleyes:

Mine are auto dipping when in reverse!, does photochromic mean they change tint depending on the sunshine?

No fuse, they are fed from the door outstation pin 3 via a green wire to pin 1 on plug C1563L or R depending on hand. With a black return to outstation from pin 6 on C1563L or R to pin 12 on connector C1407L or R handed. Just seen auto dip mentioned if they are that and memory it is a different connector on mirror but basically same set up with same pin outs and colour codes.

No down movement on reverse, just photochromic anti dazzle dip:D

just cleaned up the corroded connectors and now mine work a treat :) seems to be a running theme with mine :-(

but you do run the risk of damaging the plastic when removing as already stated

With that plug no, neither of those functions, was just pointing out the heating connections which are the same for each type. With memory mirrors plug would be C0319L or R :):)

Had a look at mine today, drivers side was a wire had come off! Someone had been in there before as they was no plastic square ring holding the glass in place, just glued in! The passengers side was showing power so I checked the heating element with a multimeter, it showed it wasn't making a complete circuit. Went to Rimmer Bros in Lincoln and bought a new passengers side glass and two square plastic rings. All done, both working for less than £18 trade. Now just got to sort the heated front screen out! Nearly forgot, buy the square plastic retaining ring, you will break it getting the glass out! Less than £3.
