No need to replace as they are mirrors - its impossible for them to stop functioning unless you smash them up.Hi can anyone tell me how to replace the wing mirrors on a 2005 Freelander. Mine have stopped functioning

Easy. Pop the corner cover/tweeter housing, and there's 3 screws behind that secure the mirror to the door.
However you don't say what has stopped working, and for it to effect both mirrors, it's unlikely to be the mirrors.
Both mirrors are affected but the left mirror will close but not open. The right is dead. This sounds like an auto electrician job then if it is the fold controller. I would not be comfortable trying. Thankyou for your helpIf both mirrors are affected, it's more likely to be the power fold controller, which is up by the LH kick panel, very close to the glove box
If one mirror is folding, then it's possible that the mon functional mirror is faulty and also the fold controller. Both mirrors are affected but the left mirror will close but not open. The controller is really easy to replace, it's just a posh relay, so has a plug on it for the connections. It's as easy as pulling the plug off the old controller, and pushing it onto the new controller, then putting it back where it came from.
There are actually replacement fold actuators for the mirrors available for the FL1, so you might get away with replacing those, although I've never replaced one, but it doesn't look an easy job. A replacement mirror is the easiest but definitely not the cheapest route to take.
