Hey guys,

I replaced my rear wiper blade as it was only wiping along about 2/3 of its length, which left a very narrow clean bit! However the new one does the same bloody thing, anyone know of a fix for this? The rubber just ain't touching the glass on the last 3 inches of it!

Also, my heating elements in the rear windscreen appear to be naffed, only about 4 actually work and it's pretty useless. I put a new one in my Hippo easy enough, how hard is it to replace?

Also, my Disco is supposed to have a heated front screen, but it's been replaced with a normal one at some point. What could I do about getting it replaced with a heated one again? I also quite fancy heated mirrors and I've found those and they aren't too expensive.

Any ideas guys? I fooking hate waiting for it to defrost as it takes ages to heat up to a useful temp.

i know i saw something about a trick with that rear wiper as it's quite common ...just that i can't remember:eek:

about the heated screen...check if you have the plugs there, you can see them both sides near the bottom of the window frame if you open the bonnet, if the plugs are there you need just a heated screen, check the relay + fuses and make sure the heated screen is enabled in BCU(doable with tester)... though if you push the button and the LED comes on it means it's enabled.

the heating elements on the rear window used to have just very small interruptions which are visible if you inspect with attention...if you can find the "crack" you can use something like this Halfords | Granville Rear Heater Repair

you can make an idea here How to Repair a Rear Defroster : Applying Defroster Repair Compound - YouTube

he may or may not of used cheap blades?
i cannot see the point of cheap and nasty wiper blades, 70mph on a motorway with a poor screen view, not for me! i use bosch blades on all our vehicles, may pay a bit more but also last longer, also fit properly!

It was a ****part rear blade I'm afraid.

The plugs are there and so is the switch, but there are no elements in the screen and nothing connecting the screen to the plugs so definitely aftermarket. Anyone know how much it would cost to have a new screen fitted?

I'll look into that fillament repair stuff :).

Between 50 and 70 quid if you have windscreen cover on your car insurance and happen to pick up a chip/crack in the next few days ;)

I was told that when u provide your reg number to a screen company it will come up with the spec, so they should fit a heated screen, did with me any way and I've had the same problem with the back window wiper and heated rear screen....
