Hi all,

Hopeing you can help, my near side headlight is some what dim and I suspect a faulty earth but can anyone point me as to where the earth is located for the headlight?

Regards

Kyle

more likely to be a dodgy connector - they are prone to overheating and melting.

earth point is common between both headlights, so start by changing bulb connector to ceramic versions (loads on Ebay)

Thanks for the reply.

Tell you what the problem is. My near side on high beam is dim but when I'm on normal (main) beam it's some what brighter. Could this be over heated connector.

Do what i have done, I had the same prob with my V8 300 and now with my D2 TD5. It always seems to be the earth con getting to hot, So i just went out and got hold of a full H4 H/L HID kit. Job done and brighter paid £20 for the hole kit.

I had a similar problem with my 1995 D1 V8 and found that it was the earth on the horizontal surface on the nearside inner wing just behind the headlamp.

If both the dip and high beam circuits of the n/s headlamp bulb were not functioning then one possibility is that u have an iffy earth connection. But as one circuit is functioning it could very well be, as already stated, so don't guess, test.
