Hi all.
I promise, I have tried to search for an answer to this question, but I've not come up with anything useful....

In a nutshell, I'm going to attempt a HG replacement shortly, but having never done one, I'm after some help on what bits I need to buy...? And any guidance on where to buy them from...?

Its a 4.6 V8 P38 2000.

Cheers in advance.

First and foremost if you've never done an head gasket, get someone who has to help you. Secondly DON'T buy your head set off Ebay unless it has Payen written on it. Cheap **** from China/India it totally bloody useless.

i done my hg wish i hadent have bothered now once thay go hot there ****ed. Get a recon engine or second hand one if moneys abit thight.

It isn't always the case that overheating the engine buggers them forever. Before I bought my 4.6 the HGs went as it had a blocked radiator, the guy couldn't afford the repair bill so I bought it off the garage. It had a new rad and skimmed heads. Done over 4K miles so far - including a couple of good thrashings - hasn't lost a drop of water (touch wood) o/e head gaskets no cheapo chinkie crap.
