HDC Not engaging...

Back again campers, righto, I'll have a butchers at the wiring and give it some 'esh.........let you know how we get on....

Hi guys

had the same problem here both lights illuminate when turning the ignition on but nothing when I engage the HDC ,even although the HDC appears to be doing its job and doing it well, checked the wiring on the gear stick and guess what ........yep both wires snapped off clean leaving no plastic casing to indicate which hire goes to which terminal.

so now what I need to know is
(a) which wire goes where ?

(b) If I connect them arse backwards will it simply blow a fuse or do much more serious damage ? and finally

(c) what is a non-mechanical cretin like me doing buying a vehicle that is notorious for going wrong ?????


never mind answering (c) its cos I have always loved the freelander and always wanted one.

a) havent got a clue.
b) if it is a switch it wont matter which way round they go - cos the switch only connects across both.
c) you have more money than sense ( possibly soon to be rectified )

Back again Campers! I've found the relevant page in the RAVE, only problem being thats its at home , and I'm at work... Still, found the prob, both wires disconnected, quality fittings....

which page cashew - i will post if yu want?

Thanks for the offer Mate, as is Normal, its on a piece of paper stuck to my computer at home...

Its in the Electrics library, the connectors folder, and I fink its number 285 if I remember right....
