HB's Gearbox 'Progress Report'..

So far so good! It seems to have bin a piece o **** so far... Touch wood, tomorrow will go just as smoothly when Stig arrives wimme new clutch and transfer gear. The output shaft on the new '£52 ebay speshul' gearbox isn't perfect, but its a LOT better than the one we took out today! So hopefully there shud be a good few thousand miles left in it. Gonna re-con the old gearbox cos we know its a good un and I fancy havin a go at takin one to bits. So transferbox, gearbox and old clutch are out. All in all it took us about three hours so far...

WOOHOO!! Me 90's back on the road!! Had a bit of a job getting the transfer box back on. Eventually we had to take the transfer cover off the back and remove the new transfer gear (again) so we could get it on. After that, it all went very smoothly! Changes gear nicely, and no more 'clunk'! So a HUGE thank you to Stig and 'Son Of Stig' and Mondo for all your help and hard work!

Get well soon wishes for 'Son Of Stig' after Mondo's high-lift broke his jaw.

I can't thank them enough. They did a grand job. Stig sourced me new clutch and transfer gear too, which he bought with him. He's my hero!
