Ive got well i think ive got piston slap on my 1.8k series freelander and wondered if anyone has tried Ametech as they seem to talk the talk.

not a scooby doo but one o the lads at work put it in his dads a4 td and to which he quotes 'did the trick'

so what it really does is glaze busting without the strip down, have seen a certain vim product used in a cat D8 engine to do the same thing

glaze busting dont work in any lr engine ive come across, only proper honing ,vim only ever left vertical scratches in bore and on rings,

Many years ago there was a product called piston seal, just squirt it down the plug hole and hey presto your engine would be healed, load of rubbish just got blown out of the exhaust system after the first cycle of the engine.

I remember that stuff. If it was any good it'd still be around & a well quoted top seller.
If your engine is worn then only a rebuild will cure it.
With piston slap it may well run for several thousand more miles without causing anything more than an annoyance when cold or not depending on your luck.
I'd probably carry on running it while I saved up for either a replacement engine or diesel Freelander.
