So im running flatdog standard height, standard weight springs on the 90 and the articulation is pretty good. the downside is that since ive stuck all manner of heavy steel bits on it and the winch its looking a little low, especially at the front end. the vehicle also has koni +2 dampers on it and dislocation cones.

so im thinking of getting some new springs for it..... Question....

Do i fit harder springs of the same length... or longer springs of the standard weight?

what will be better off road or will it not matter.

???

HD springs are a thicker metal and there is more of it than standard.

do you mean you are unsure about lifting it or not?

I put HD springs on mine for a similar reason. However be warnes it makes the ride very hard, go over a speed bump and you fly out the seat!

:pound:

Thats what happened to me!

I left funkykippers drive after putting Britpart +2 springs on and hadn't got a few hundred meters before i cracked my head on the roof rivets when going over a speed bump!

Bloody hurt it did!

Only had them on over night, went back the next morning and put OME springs on :D

So i may be being thick here :D

Given the weight of the landie and with standard height and weight (175lb sq/in @ fr) springs it looks pretty low especially at the front. the springs arent old, just not man enough i think.

So to preserve as much articulation as i can (it already handles like a boat)

Do i

a) get longer springs (+2") which are the same spring weight (175lb sqin fr). Lifts the front end because the springs is longer to start with.

or

b) get standard height springs which are a heavier duty weight like 228lb sqin fr. Lifts the front end because the springs are heavier duty and there is less sag.

thoughts on a postcard. or am i being dense.

You cant have both, it will either be good off road or handle like a BMW, whats wrong with it handling like a boat? I find it rather entertaining.

You could fit roll bars but off roading would suffer.

You could fit roll bars and take the two bolts out and tie it up for off roading then refit for them for the race back home:)

off road is my only consideration. im completely unfussed as to its road manners. i never said otherwise :p

i need some springs to support the weight of my landie now it has all kinds of heavy metal crap attached to it..... longer or harder? or both?
