My 1986 C Reg 2.5na 90 has an intermittent sticking handbrake problem. Some mornings its needs a tap on the drum with a friendly persuader... other mornings it releases beautifully. Getting sick of kneeling down in my suit in the drive. Any thoughts to the problem and/or fix. I am thinking springs between the shoes???

it may just need a good cleaning . i had that problem on a td5 and there was some old thick dried grease/oil mixture on the shoes and drum causing the sticking .i just opened it up scraped it off with a knife and cleaned it with gasoline . good as new
