Handbrake problem please help

Hi I’m new to the site I’m having problems with my handbrake on me disco 3 54reg handbrake got stuck on tried to use manual release but not good I ended up having to cut the cables to be able to move the car looked at a lot of videos on what the problem could be bought new cables and kit to fix the problem open the box up sure enough the gears were strip replaced them fitted new cables adjusted shoes cleaned and lubed everything now I just get a message on the dash saying handbrake not functioning tried everything took fuse out at the mo just incase it decides to put it self on and I can’t get off again sorry this is a long winded any help will be grateful

electronic parking brake = the work of the devil
i believe you have to clear the fault and rest with diag.
