Handbrake cable snapped

I got into the car after work tonight, started up and released the handbrake but it didnt feel right - turns out the LH cable has snapped and the handbrake lever just pulls right up

I am glad I had parked the car on a level space otherwise my Freelander could have rolled into another car, most of the carpark is sloped and its only by chance I parked where I did today.

Currently have the handbrake adjusted so it works on the RH side and a new cable is on order.

leave it in gear

I always tended to leave my cars in gear, never fully trusting the handbrake cables but kind of got out of the habit due to moans from the wife finding the car in gear :lol:

not the sot of job to do in this weather . . . . . .

if you have a td4 auto you just leave it in park it will not ove but I always put the handbrake on as well though
