hi, have had new rear suspension fitted to rear of l322, adjusted up rear handbrake shoes but handbrake lever is not auto adjusting up, is there a way to reset the auto adjusting part inside the lever asembley??

yep ur right it probably has reached it's max, however i saw a ebay ad for a secondhand 1 and he said he'd 'reset' the auto adjusting part so it would work again on another motor, but can't see anything on lever to 'reset'. guess i'll need to remove center console to see, but if any1 knows how its done plz help, thx in advance.

I thought HB adjustment was done by taking the rear wheels off, alighning the Hub up so the hole is at the 6 o'clock position, and the adjustment cog is accessed with a long screwdriver and the cog is turned to just about binding then backed off a couple of notches....

I am not aware of any adjustment on the handle....

As attached rom RAVE:

yep that is correct to adjust the shoes to the disc but the cable then needs to adjust,,, the lever is suposed to auto adjust up 'bmw ****e design' but this one isn't

Standard procedure for adjusting any hand brake is to knock back adjuster on lever. Adjust shoes then adjust lever. If shoes have worn lever maybe at it's max adjustment. Any adjustment to shoes will be invalid because cables will be holding compensators off at other than their rest angle. So knock lever adjustment back, adjust shoes then allow lever to self adjust.
