Got a fair amount of water coming into the driver footwell, which weren't bovvering me too much, but now smells like me Grandads pants. I know its rainwater, cos it only 'appens when it rains (sharp like that me :D ) Its bang in the middle of the footwell, dry above it, and no holes underneath, sunroofs all good, and I'm fekked if I can find where its coming in. Anyone had this or got any ideas?

Do you have AC? If so the external drains could be blocked and the AC will be draining into the car. All the carpets will be wet if that is happening. I've mine out to dry at the minute. They were soaking wet.

Cheers

I'm not sure about this but there could be a couple of possibilities.

The windscreen may be leaking - this is a problem on Classic Range Rovers, mine leaks both sides!!

The other options for water in the footwells, leaking/missing grommets in the bulkhead or as suggested elsewhere, blocked drain on A/C or sun roof or similar.

Check the seams in the floor, they can let by, remove carpets and insulation and use compressed air to check for leaks in the floor. I guess a similar method could be used to find leaks anywhere but a hose pipe works pretty well if you don't mind getting the inside of your car even wetter.

If its got air con check the aircon drains first, mine did this and i paid out for a new windscreen as lots of people said that it is common for the screens to leak. All it needed was the aircon drains clearing which come out either side of the gearbox at the rear of the bellhousing underneath the car, they have a rubber cone on the end which blocks, pull this out and clean it!!

No air con fitted, so not that. Had a look at windscreen, and looks ok, but I guess you can't really tell, so this is a possibility. Can't be coming down me leg, as I've checked me bag, and its fine, no leaks there !!

School run?? Me?? Fek that, you won't catch me outside a school for at least another 10 years hehe.

Thanks for all replies / advice guys :))

I had water under the carpet on the passenger side and I found it was coming through the hole for the bolts that hold the bracket that supports the dash and the glove box to the inner wing behind the kick panel. A bit of mastic over the bolt and around the bracket fixed it.
Took days to find and then I could only see the small drips of water with a bright tourch.
