Hi all, I'm John, 32 from Perthshire, Scotland.

I'm currently in the Market for my first defender, and landrover for that matter. I'm looking for a 90 with six seats or a 110 with 5+ seats in good nick for £10,000 or less..... Have I any hope?!?!

All the best,

John.

bloody hell who left the gates open? That's 2 of the buggers in the last 10 minutes.

Welcome to the loony zone. :D £10k will get you a very nice td5. 110 or 90. personally I'd go for the 110 as with 6 peeps ina 90, it'll be cramped and there won't be any room for luggage or shopping etc.

Welcome to LZ, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. 10 grand will get you a very nice Defender, shame you missed a 110 11 seater with a GMC 6.2 a few weeks ago on ebay that went for 9k!

Morning all! Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm just outside Blairgowrie for those who are also from Perthshire. Plenty of defenders round these parts, probably why I've so fallen in love with them!

We live on a farm about two miles from Blairgowrie, down a windy single track road. The last two winters have obviously been awful! But my girlfriend works in Perth and couldn't get to her work for weeks as the road was impassable. I was having to drive her up to Blairgowrie in my works Ford Rangers for her to then get a lift of a colleague, but even then the roads were terrible to Perth.

So! A 4x4 it is!! And I've always had a thing for defenders!

Like I said ideally a 110. Full service history, reasonable mileage and well looked after. I don't want to pay £450 a year road tax, so a pre-2005?? Model?

I've had my eye on eBay, but always find it a bit daunting to buy a car from there cause I've heard a few horror stories! I'm not mechanically minded, so wouldn't know what to look for!

I've also been keeping an eye on Balmoral Landrover by Blairgowrie, although most of his defenders seem to be 100k+ mileages

I've also been watching strathearn engineering, but like someone suggested he seems a bit pricey?!?

Stratatone Landrover and the other franchised dealers are out the window as they only seem to stock £20k+ nearly new vehicles?

Lix toll has a good selection, but again tend to be more expensive models or permanent four wheel drive.

So I thought I'd come on here for a bit of advice and banter!
