Hello all, just joined here today and thought I would say "hi"...

Picked up my 2001 Freelander yesterday - bought with FSH and the HG done last year - paperwork complete with large bill for the HG work!
I have bought the Freelander after moving into the countryside and finding that my little MR2 Roadster would be a complete wreck after the winter, thats if we survived colliding with one of the many deer in the area! So after owning 2 x MR2 Roadster with a Boxster inbetween them, I now find myself able to see over hedges when I am driving!!

Love the Freelander, makes me drive sensibly (well sort of, put my CG lock on the seatbelt today and throwing it into corners a bit more now!).

Just one niggle with the car - bit of lumpy tickover, sort of oscilates - fine when driving though. Just wondered where the MAF is on a 1.8 - a quick blast of carb cleaner through it might be worth doing if it has been neglected for a while and might do the trick...just read about depressing the pedal 5 times and restarting - will try that at work tomorrow!

Anyway - enough waffle - hope to have fun on the forum and learn more about my 4 x 4.

Regards

Liz:)

Quick edit your post, you can't own up to having an MR2 and a freelander on this forum. Lamb to the slaughter.

so you owned a ****ty slitty chavvy roadster, and pretend porshe, and now a gaylander, and you even got it in your name so we can call you gaylandia

**** many christmasses have come at once, you are right howard, lamb to the slaughter

welcome gaylandia, hope you got a thick skin, you will need it

Freelandia, if the tractor boys take the **** out of you just remind them that freelanders don't rust unlike their tractors.

:welcome: Liz to LZ...:) **** takin dont last long I promise, jus give as good as you get you will be fine :D

dont push it, Howard - we know thats only coz they arent allowed out coz they spend too much time up on 4 poster ramps and then carnt go out in the rain, coz the doors fall orf - no wonder they dont rust. ;).

evening, we have a gaylander section- Howardo will guide you through ownership issues.
:welcome2:

always too late to the party....in my experience, i hit a deer in a celica, b4 the wisecracks, was the 'most wanted' model..it knocked the legs off and flew over the windscreen...
i hit a deer in a defender...it became diced deer and entered the heat vents..cost a fortune to repair everything..

Still, rather have the defender........

Strange fetish running dear over :D

wonder if she'll be back.

Well, logged on here to see if there were any replies to my question about the tickover , that was a big fat no and a few insults about my previous cars to boot...nice.

Thank you for your response Liz...

So in answer to your question, don't think I will bother coming back- I am a moderator on another forum and we tend to treat noobs with a bit more respect and be welcoming and answer their questions or point them in the right direction (and yes I did use the search facility).

To "The Mad Hat Man" - ooooo it was a gurlee..bugger - why dint yu say

You obviously didn't read all of my post where my name was at the bottom of it...and along with bad eyesight you have probably got a small dick hence the reason you feel the need to take your frustrations out on the internet as a keyboard warrior.

Can a mod please now delete my account...thanks!
