Dont take this the wrong way Jay, but most people will not hand out routes and or coordinates for lanes to anyone they dont know.
Its nothing personal but these days you have to be a little careful, because there is some morons out there who are just looking to fling mud!
Im sure most dont realise there causing a problem but alas they are.
The lanes are getting shut down at a rapid rate, because of damage to them. And after a couple of temporary closures the council just close it permanently.
So until you have driven with people, and they have seen your driving style and attitude a few times they are unlikely to give information to prevent the above.
Also. Its hard work finding lanes and checking routes. And doing it legally. Its a case of grabbing an OS map and reading the key to find out what you can and cant drive and even then the map dosent tell you if its legal to drive. you need to look at the definitive map(at your local council office) to check it. aaaaaaand......(see its a long process!) You need to check with the ROW(rights of way) officer to check its not closed or that it isnt subject to a TRO(traffic regulation order).
So basically, its hard work and alot of people take the view that. "why should we do all the hard work and other people reap the benefits".
Like i said, this is not personal. Im not saying your going to rip up the lanes. But you must be able to see why its the way it is?
Best thing to do is to come out with us a few times, look through some maps and do your checking etc. And when people see your taking an interest and putting back in. You'll be surprised as to how open people are.
Ive not been on here to long myself, but i have had info from others and sent info to others that have helped me.
