Greasy Orange Scum

I just checked my coolant and the there is an orange greasy scum around the neck of the filler. It looks like the same texture as I get as scum on the top of my jacuzzi!!

It does not look or smell like oil, the oil dips normal, the engine runs perfectly.

I did run it hot when I had blocked cooling fins but not into the red arc. Compressions are fine.

Any ideas?

flush it through with liquid disherwasher liquid.

What motor have you got in it.TD5 it sounds like you have a leak in your oil cooler matrix....they corrode and leak slightly, clogs ur radiator up a bit and leak can get worse and cause big issues.

its a 200TDi and the radiator with built in oil cooler is brand new.


I wonder if it might be left over oil drips from when I rebuilt the engine?

You'll prob find its OAT antifreeze partly dryed
